When did you first get into photography and what was your first camera?

I first got into photography in March of 2022, and my first camera was the same Nikon d3400 that I still use today.

What's your dream camera and location to shoot?

Anything Leica would be a dream camera and either the favelas of Rio, Kiev, or Tokyo!

What are you looking for when you go out to shoot?

I’m looking for opportunities to capture what ordinary life looks like in extraordinary places.

Favourite shot and why?

I love this shot of Laclede’s Landing in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. I grew up not far from here and I’ve been going to St. Louis all my life so this shot holds a lot of sentimental value for me, and I think it was my first shot that I really composed well, with the iconic St. Louis Arch in the background and the old town of Lacledes in the foreground. I’m really proud of this shot.

Photography career goals?

My number one concern is to have fun and enjoy what I’m doing, whatever that looks like at any given moment. I don’t have any big aspirations to become some famous photographer. I think though, maybe to be published in a magazine or have prints of mine up in a gallery would be a big achievement for me. I’d definitely be proud of that.

Best piece of advice for new photographers?

Honestly, I’m pretty new myself so I can’t give too much advice other than get out and just take some photos, don’t be afraid to make mistakes, and reach out/be friendly. Tell other photographers on Instagram or photographers you see that you like their stuff. There’s no right or wrong answers here, it’s art.
